I can play this same dvd (Akira) on my dapper system:
dpkg -l gxine|grep ^ii
ii gxine 0.5.7-1ubuntu4~dapper1 the xine video player, GTK+/Gnome
user interface
but on my edgy laptop:
ii gxine 0.5.7-1ubuntu4 the xine video player, GTK+/Gnome user
interface
it hangs. several other dvds play fine on both systems.
