A couple of weeks ago I found what I take it to be the solution to this Ubuntu/Firefox/Youtube problem that I was having: download the Flash Player direct from the Mozilla Firefox website. I think the Flash Player was already installed, but am not sure. In any event, after downloading and installing the Flash Player this seemed to magically solve the complete Inspiron 8000 freeze problem. Thanks again, Ernst Ps.
