Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu 24.04, with the latest updated applied, the ethernet
connection coming from the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 WorkStation Dock
(https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/pd500533) suddenly
disconnects at some point after the boot.

These are the logs:

This happens independently from the Kernel I'm using: the above messages
are the same while using linux-image-6.8.0-45-generic or linux-
image-6.8.0-1013-oem.

This seems to be a known problem
(https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=284914) not strictly related
to the Lenovo docking station, on which the firmware is up to date with
the latest one.
