> Like bug 2060268, this doesn't seem a kernel bug, more like a user space issue.
I think it's the kernel DRM driver (i915) that's meant to evict simpledrm. Either explicitly or implicitly. Or maybe simpledrm monitors for new fbdev devices and removes itself when another one appears (as alluded to in bug 2060268). The latter I should be able to test for and confirm in the coming days... The only reason bug 2060268 was solved in user space was because it was Nvidia and we have no power to modify that driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2084046 Title: [i915] Phantom "Unknown" display detected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2084046/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
