I am mildly surprised to see something as fundamental as gcc being upgraded to a new major version in a Ubuntu stable release, and this on a very obscure basis (at least for the open community). I see no justification here in the bug report that matches anything at https://canonical-sru-docs.readthedocs- hosted.com/en/latest/reference/requirements/#what-is-acceptable-to-sru What is going on here?
