I'm running 24.04.01 and several applications have this bug: PrusaSlicer, Slickedit, and Gitk.
I didn't have this problem with Ubuntu 22. I read somewhere that this is related to Snap. I have purged Snap from my installation because Snap sucks. It makes no sense that desktop icons depend on the existing of a package manager. I also tried the StartupWMClass trick, but that didn't work either.
