I installed kubuntu-artwork-usplash as pointed by E-B and then got the
Kubuntu artwork while booting and shutting down (I did not execute
update-alternatives, so Kubuntu artwork was OK here).

But then I removed (and purged) kubuntu-artwork-usplash and rebooted:
while shutting down, the Ubuntu logo was shown but, oddly enough,
Kubuntu artwork was still shown on next boot.

How's that possible? I did purge all the remains of kubuntu-artwork-usplash,
so why is Kubuntu splash still there? I guess that something's wrong with the
default usplash artwork.
