This issue is NOT related to Lubuntu oracular ...
I booted a Lubuntu noble ISO on - dell [optiplex] 780 (c2q-q9400, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350) and from terminal, I can ping local internet without issue, and ping globally (eg. ping 8.8.8.8) without issue, but any human-address that requires DNS is not functional??? so the problems I'm having APPEAR TO BE RELATED TO MY NETWORK and thus are not an issue; they are also not oracular/24.10 related as I'm getting them on the 24.04.1 RC where i did NOT have issues a couple of weeks ago... Still not found cause though, but its meaning I can't QA test any install (currently) that requires internet (unless I manually setup routing)... What really worries me in this bug though, is that this error is triggered WHENEVER internet is available.. ie. I get this error - NO UPDATES are selected for install - ONLY NORMAL install, so nothing optional but are causing this issue?? why is internet even accessed??? as this issue should NOT be encountered if installer does NOT select updates, or installs only NORMAL packages --- this install was triggered again on a FULL INSTALL, but this install does REQUIRE internet; so local networking issues are a valid reason for this problem I believe (which isn't what this comment is mostly about) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2083684 Title: lubuntu oracular - calamares To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/2083684/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
