Hello, Bernhard, this bug has just marked as a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/136529 by the
developers, so I suppose you should file your information there. Also,
as a suggestion from another user, you might want to try turning of the
dual-core functionality of your computer. You might do so either in the
bios, or perhaps with acpi=off. Maybe booting in uniprocessor mode will
work-around the problem. This solved the problem for me (albeit mine is
just hyperthreaded, not real dual-core).
