I am having the same issue with Ubuntu 22.04. Some recent error report

Attached is the journal, notably line 63562 has the segfault:
Sep 09 12:53:53 cody-Precision-3660 kernel: gnome-shell[266460]: segfault at 0
ip 00007354d2835241 sp 00007ffdbb70c0d0 error 4 in
libwayland-server.so.0.20.0[7354d2833000+8000] likely on CPU 8 (core 16, socket
0)

I don't know the terms enough to speak fluent linux but on a full
shutdown / start up there is a gray login screen I guess before settings
are considered, like it doesn't have my background and doesn't know what
order my 3 monitors are in etc, which is normal. Normally I would never
see that login screen again until the next full shutdown/startup. When
the issue in this bug happens, I'm on the lock screen and walked away,
but when I come back it is on that gray login screen. I put in my
password and for the briefest of time, a half second or so, I see all my
open windows distorted before they disappear and I have to reopen
anything I want opened again.
