I wish to add myself as a another user with the exact same phenomena.
Move files from desktop to another folder and thumbnails appear. Some
.jpeg, .pdf files do display thumbnails on Desktop while some do not
with nothing apparent that is different between the files.
I would like to add this. When I take a .jpeg or .jpg on the Desktop
that is NOT displaying a thumbnail, load into GIMP and then save an .XCF
file of the same image. Both the .XCF file and the .jpg that was not
displaying a thumbnail will start displaying a thumbnail.
