** Description changed:

After 5 minutes of inactivity the wireless connection drops.
If I use the connection for any reason (downloading files, surfing webpages,
etc), it can work for hours without any problem but after just 5 minutes of
inactivity, even though the icon of "connection properties" still shows
connected, I can't download data, connect to router or anything else.
I noticed that monitors on the icon start blinking continuously.

After reading all bugs launchpad suggested me before posting this one, I
noticed I few bug reports that look like mine, but none of them talks
about inactivity which is exactly my problem.

A few more details about my hardware / software:

  Notebook Hp pavilion zv5000
Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN
Controller (rev 03)
NOT using bcm43xx opensource driver (with this driver I have to be close to
the router: a few meters far from it and no way to get connected).
USING wireless card drivers bcmwl5 with Ndiswrapper
  Bios updated to latest version

  Ubuntu 7.10
+ Dual boot with Windows Xp Home edition
  Network manager removed
Connect to a router with static ip and wpa encryption
  Using wpa_supplicant

Tried booting kernel with "apm=off" but no change.

Hope not to be wrong, but never experienced this problem with feisty
  fawn or dapper drake

  Thanks.
