After installing linux-firmware 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.2 i can
confirm that now the driver loads the correct versions of firmware/ddc
and everything works as expected.

Since identical (manually installed) firmware binaries worked perfectly
for weeks, I am confident the new package will have no issues. I'll post
an update if anything changes.
