Besides trying on Chromium as suggested by Daniel, to help tracking down the exact component causing the problem: Does this happen on Xorg, Wayland? If the former, does it happen in a simple window manager (e.g. Icewm)? If the latter, does it happen in a simple compositor (e.g. Hyperland)?
> When I click on an active app on the panel, it glitches out really badly sometimes Is that captured in the movie you attached? I don't see you clicking the panel in it, nor do I see Element glitching really badly. The only thing I see is the black border around the window — which by the way I also observe in some Gnome windows in my Xorg environment without a compositor and was rejected upstream as "not an use case we support". > It goes away when I click on some channel within Element. What is "it"? The black border? > It stopped when I disabled the tiling extension. I think then I have the answer for my first questions, namely it will specific to Ubuntu's Gnome desktop environment. But please do confirm. ** Also affects: gnome-shell-extension-tiling-assistant (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2074077 Title: Electron/Chromium apps have black borders To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/2074077/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
