Thanks @meireli for opening this. The Ubuntu-aws-6.5-6.5.0-1024 version of the mantic (23.10) 6.5 based kernel is a strange one. It was the kernel generated for the s2024.06.10 SRU cycle. This was a security cycle, so only security related patches were added to this kernel.
This is where things get a little weird. Mantic (23.10) is End of Life, so the last kernel would have been Ubuntu-aws-6.5-6.5.0-1023 kernel. The 1024 based kernel was only added as source code but no packages where created for this kernel. The source code was uploaded so we could generated the jammy (22.04) backported 6.5 based kernel. At this point, there probably won't be any new 6.5 kernels, and the 6.5 kernel users will be migrated to the 6.8 kernel. --- That is the reason it wasn't fixed in the 1024 kernel as you noted. I will work on getting this fixed in the 6.8 kernel, and will keep this ticket updated as best as I can.
