Slightly different from dreamsyntax in comment 887, I have a Lenovo
Legion Pro 7 16ARX8H (which is the AMD Ryzen variant, so not an Intel
CPU). I see quirks already exist in patch_realtek.c for subsystem ID
0x17aa38a8 (which seems to be commented as being a 16ARX8H), but mine
has subsystem ID 0x17aa38a7 instead (with a 7 at the back). As a result,
at least in kernel 6.9.7 so far, no sound is being played back from the
speakers.
I was able to work around this by using the solution proposed in the link of
adding
options snd-hda-intel model=,17aa:38a8
... to /etc/modprobe.d/60-hda.conf to force it to be detected as the one
specified in the quirks.
I'm not sure why my model receives a different subsystem ID than the one
already added to the quirks; my BIOS is the latest available in any
case.
tl;dr: I think perhaps 0x17aa38a7 needs the same quirk applied as
0x17aa38a8?
