Public bug reported: Binary package hint: backuppc
Hi, I'm a Gutsy 7.10 user that finds backuppc really great. Now, I'd like to upgrade to v3.10 (from v3.0), and would prefer to use the proper packages than going to tarballs. On http://packages.qa.debian.org/b/backuppc.html I see that v3.10 is now in testing. On http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/utils/backuppc there are no notes on v3.10 for Ubuntu e.g. who maintains for Ubuntu. My questions: - Does the Ubuntu version have non debian mods? - What is the procedure for making the debian package available on Ubuntu? - *Can I offer any help* in this process? I have three Ubuntu 7.10 servers running that I could test on, if that helps. I looked at http://doc.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/packagingguide/C/, which describes packaging, but where is the process for Universe packages defined?
