Argon2 is already supported in GRUB2 version that Ubuntu ships (in fact it was already in the version that was shipped with Ubuntu 23.10), but Ubuntu maintainers decided to disable that as well! See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/2047485
This is why the whole situation is so frustrating.
