This bug still exists even for recent installations of 22.04 LTS. Thats not actually surprising, but the path needed to create this bug is.
Capturing the serial converter USB device generically as has been shown, is a MAJOR breakdown of proper etiquette at least, and a don't care attitude on the part of the Braille device manufacturers, those writing of the udev rules, and those allowing that into the distributions. This was a coordinated effort amongst multiple people to ignore at least best practices in the name of "accessibility". I can only imagine what could be done if someone wanted to be malicious. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1990357 Title: ch340 USB/serial - brltty interference To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brltty/+bug/1990357/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
