Public bug reported: Summary: Changing the cursor theme to DMZ-White or Handhelds using GNOME Tweaks results in the system's UI crashing, displaying the "Something went wrong" screen.
Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open GNOME Tweaks. 2. Navigate to Appearance. 3. Change the cursor to "DMZ-White" or "Handhelds". Expected Behavior: The cursor theme should change without causing the system's UI to crash. Actual Behavior: The system's UI crashes immediately after changing the cursor theme to "DMZ-White" or "Handhelds", displaying the "Something went wrong" screen. This requires switching to a non-UI TTY to recover. Workaround: To fix the issue, switch to a non-UI TTY and change the cursor back using the following commands: 1. Press `Ctrl + Alt + F3` to switch to TTY3. 2. gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface cursor-theme 'Yaru' Additional Information: - Ubuntu Version: 20.04 LTS - ubuntu-gnome-desktop LTS - GNOME Tweaks Version LTS ** Affects: gnome-tweaks (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2067505 Title: Cursor Change Crashes System in GNOME Tweaks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-tweaks/+bug/2067505/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
