Well guys, yesterday I had the brilliant idea to update my Ubuntu from 23.10 to 24.04 LTS. Silly me for not doing much research, but my laptop (which I use for work) has burst all its graphic power, I don't know who has decided to leave it like this, knowing that 23.10 and 24.04 are practically merged, many things fixed about jumps to server machines and so on but goodbye to graphics for a few months. But if someone has this problem I give you my solution, tested on Intel I5, I7 (from generation 11 to 14), Nvidia graphics. From Softwares and Updates just choose the option go to Additional Drivers, use the last option X.Org X server. Restart the machine and at the start of the session when you choose the user at the bottom right you will have the type of ENV desktop you want to use, set the Xorg. With this you won't be able to use many NVIDIA features like graphics or CUDAS processing, but you can put it in the secondary options if you need to render images or video. Sorry I can't give more information or details about it, I just "fixed" 20 machines in my company and I'm doing my tests, I'll put something more when I have more data. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2064189 Title: Screen flickers after installing Ubuntu 24.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2064189/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
