you're right, I was looking for *.deb in ~/ksmbd-tools and it was in ~/ The new installation seems to be looking for the configuration file in the /usr/local/etc/ksmbd directory and not /etc/ksmbd like the previous one. However, after installing and restarting the service, errors appear:
