It may just be me, but I can't help but feel that an 8 point system is rather excessive especially in the light of a lot of other music players using the 5 point system. In addition to this, regardless of how many stars one picks, they don't appear under the ratings column and even if it did, it doesn't appear that you can even allocate points without having the song playing. Even in terms of presentation, 8 stars over 5 stars in a ratings column seems rather cumbersome to me. Again, this is just my opinion and it may not necessarily reflect the views of other people.
Also, with people who are making the transition from other operating systems or more simply other music players, I think its important to have features which they may be more familiar with. Exaile is an excellent program with some good ideas for features such as its tablature and lyrics searching capabilities. But I just wonder whether the current ratings system needs to be reconsidered(?) It's nice to have features that make a program stand out or just plain "different," but sometimes similarity (and familiarity) isn't/aren't (a) bad thing(s) as far as programs go. -- Exaile song rating system https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/179197 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
