If you go to the dvd slideshow main page at http://dvd- slideshow.sourceforge.net/wiki/Main_Page, it says the following:
"Note: There is a known issue with newer versions of ffmpeg requiring a different audio bitrate syntax which makes audio encoding fail. This is fixed in the Subversion Repository code."
