Public bug reported:

With Ubuntu 21.04 LTS I can browse (gnome-files) remote files with SSH
and clicking excel-table files will open the tables to Libreoffice. This
does not work under Ubuntu 21.10 anymore. Libreoffice banner shows
shortly and then nothing happens.
