I tried installing the sun-java6-plugin this morning (Dec 24, 2007), and got the same unresolved dependency error on libstdc++5. I manually installed the libstdc++5 package, and was subsequently able to install the java plugin. As of this morning, the libstdc++5 package is not listed as a dependency of the sun-java*-plugin packages (I got the same error trying to install the java5 plugin).
