I've seen the same issue reported in gnome trackers under Nautilus+Fedora and Thunar+Arch, so I'm fairly sure it's not a Mint- specific bug (though those are obviously not Ubuntu-based).
The original report here was for Ubuntu Mate...that's "direct" Ubuntu, right?
