Public bug reported: Binary package hint: stellarium
Maybe this should go into compiz... I am running Ubuntu Gutsy with Compiz package 1:0.6.0+git20071008-0ubuntu1 and Stellarium package 0.9.0-1 with 768 MB of RAM. There are times when I run Stellarium where starting it causes X to restart from the login screen. It might be because Stellarium and compiz make a combination which overloads the memory and causes X to crash. Here are some steps to reproduce: 1. Get the computer running (have some apps running, like maybe firefox, rhythmbox, liferea, xchat) to use up some memory. Make sure compiz is on. 2. Open Stellarium. One of two things should happen: a. Stellarium opens correctly but with a little bit of slowing (the good situation). b. The screen goes black and goes back to the login screen (as if Ctrl+alt+Backspace was pressed). I'm not sure if this is just a problem from me not having enough memory, but it would be nice to be able to have compiz maybe ignore stellarium ** Affects: stellarium (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- stellarium + compiz sometimes crashes x https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178406 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
