Public bug reported: I did a clean install of Lubuntu 20.04.3 LTS on my system and I didn't install any extra software after this install. Everything was working just fine, my system would shutdown and restart normally. This morning, after being prompted to do a full upgrade of the system, I did it. The upgrade was successful and I was asked to restart my pc. After this upgrade, when prompting my system to shutdown or restart, it just won't. If I choose to shutdown, the screen goes blank but fans are still on and so is the power led. To fully power off my system I have to perform a hard reset by holding the power off button. The same thing happens when trying to restart it.
