You are absolutely right, commenting out the interface puts it back to NetworkManager screen.
I actually agree with this change, since I never used networkmanager And it is probably redundant with wired interfaces. But now it is improved a lot, and thus I probably leave eth0 commented in /etc/network/interfaces. Although I will loose the ifup/ifdown command this way... Maybe it is better to have an opt-in option for dual control (both ifup and networkmanager) ? Should this bug be closed?
