Thanks for trying to help! When trying to do "sudo apt install nvidia-340" I get the message "Fehler: Umbenennen beinhaltet Überschreiben von /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGL.so.1.distrib mit /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGL.so.1 nicht erlaubt". Roughly translated to English... "Error: rename includes overwriting of /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGL.so.1.distrib with /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGL.so.1. This is not allowed". I have looked at the permission properties of the respective symbolic links and files, set them to 777 --- but to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks again for your help!
