Public bug reported:

Hi,

after plugging in an USB device, it doesn't get noticed until I say lsusb in
terminal - then it activates properly.
Maybe it is related to what I get in dmesg (complete output attached):

I tried booting with the irqpoll option, the oops didn't show up in
dmesg and hotplugging worked, but integrated trackpoint motion was very
sloppy (as if processed only 10x/second or so). This bug was already
present in 2.6.22.
