Public bug reported: plocate by default indexes /mnt/{c,wsl}/ in WSL. /mnt/c contains the entire host filesystem which has includes your windows installation and all installed programs which you normally do not want to find with locate. Also /mnt/wsl is more or less a link to your wsl root filesystem which can be found under / already.
To ignore it ``/mnt/c`` needs to be added to ``PRUNEPATHS`` under /etc/updatedb.conf``. ** Affects: mlocate (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: plocate (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: mlocate (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - Don't index /mnt/c in WSL + Don't index /mnt/{c,wsl} in WSL ** Description changed: - plocate by default indexes /mnt/c/ in WSL which is the entire host - filesystem which has a lot of files which you normally do not want to - find with locate. + plocate by default indexes /mnt/{c,wsl}/ in WSL. /mnt/c contains the + entire host filesystem which has includes your windows installation and + all installed programs which you normally do not want to find with + locate.
