Public bug reported: Hi,
just installed a new HPE microserver with SSD and four harddisks with new 21.10 server and tried to create a zpool with zpool create pool1 raidz2 /dev/sda /dev/sdb /dev/sdc /dev/sdd -O encryption=on -O keyformat=passphrase which reproducably crashed twice with the attached kernel message. The zpool then exists, but is not encrypted. zpool create pool1 raidz2 /dev/sda /dev/sdb /dev/sdc /dev/sdd without the option works and a subsequent zfs create pool1/sub -o encryption=on -o keyformat=passphrase works as well. Which is, however, not a real workaround for a fully encrypted pool (which worked under 20.04). regards ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 21.10 Package: zfsutils-linux 2.0.6-1ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.13.0-19.19-generic 5.13.14 Uname: Linux 5.13.0-19-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: zfs zunicode zavl icp zcommon znvpair ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu70 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass Date: Sun Oct 17 12:44:15 2021 InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-10-17 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Server 21.10 "Impish Indri" - Release amd64 (20211013) SourcePackage: zfs-linux UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: zfs-linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug impish uec-images ** Attachment added: "dmesg output of kernel crash" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1947498/+attachment/5533647/+files/dmesg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1947498 Title: zfs/zpool encryption crash on server 21.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zfs-linux/+bug/1947498/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
