Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-2-generic

Today I installed a new Kernel
linux-image-2.6.24-2-generic_2.6.24-2.4_i386.deb. Now powertop shows about 200
- 2000 wakeups/sec caused by "Rescheduling Interrupts". The System is completly
Idle, for example Opera adds about 1000 wakeups.
Rescheduling Interrupts should balance Tasks between two CPUs, maybe this is a
Scheduler Problem?

It seems to be a kernel problem, disabling SMP in the BIOS workarounds the
problem.
System is a Dell XPS M1330 Santa Rosa Core 2 Duo Notebook.

This is a critical Bug for Notebooks as it takes about 5W more on my
machine.

If you need further information please tell me.
