Ok, so I think we can consider it verified as much as it's possible. The existing focal 'riscv64' preinstalled cdimage builds still work (that use 'hifive' as the subarch in livecd-rootfs) and we did a few image test builds on launchpad with the new subarch (e.g. [1]) - the image builds failed, but we think this is unrelated to the livecd-rootfs changes. Currently focal is still missing kernel, u-boot and possibly other bits that are needed for building fully functional images - so we'll know for sure if we got everything once all the other bits are ready.
Let's get this migrated in the meantime. We can follow up with additional changes if needed. livecd-rootfs is special in this way that it does not affect regular users, so SRUs of this package are a bit less risky.
