Public bug reported: I'm using the vnc4server package on Ubuntu 7.10.
When a user runs multiple VNC server sessions (each running a GNOME desktop session) then killing one of the VNC sessions causes the GNOME applets in the others to crash. Steps to reproduce: 1) Modify ~/.vnc/xstartup to #!/bin/sh gnome-session & 2) Start multiple VNC instances as a single user (e.g. vncserver :1, vncserver :2, vncserver :3) 3) Wait for all desktops to load 4) Kill one of the sessions, e.g. vncserver -kill :1 5) The gnome applets in the remaining VNC server sessions (:2 and :3) will fail, i.e: Trash has quit unexpectedly Volume control has quit unexpectedly Deskbar has quit unexpectedly User switcher has quit unexpectedly ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Multiple VNC server sessions and GNOME applets https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/177085 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
