Public bug reported: On an Ubuntu 16.04 LTS to Ubuntu 18.04 LTS upgrade, even if you use apt- get purge molly-guard before the upgrade and reboot without being prompted for the system name, molly-guard somehow magically comes back and, at the end of the upgrade, the following occurs:
System upgrade is complete. Restart required To finish the upgrade, a restart is required. If you select 'y' the system will be restarted. Continue [yN] y W: molly-guard: SSH session detected! Please type in hostname of the machine to reboot: Good thing I asked; I won't reboot cedar-falls-ivr-pri2 ... At this point you terminate the screen session and reboot. If you back out of the upgrade the system is left in an inconsistent state: The software is for Ubuntu 18.04 but /etc/apt/sources.list is for Ubuntu 16.04 ** Affects: easy-rsa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: do-release-upgrade molly-guard -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1932054 Title: molly-guard causes do-release-upgrade to fail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/easy-rsa/+bug/1932054/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
