Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
After I resume from suspend to ram, often NetworkManager is unable to reconnect to my wireless network. I am running Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04 on a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a pentium m processor and my wireless networking card apparently uses "intel inside centrino(tm) MOBILE TECHNOLOGY." All that has to be done to reproduce the bug (on this computer, at least) is to suspend to ram, and then resume. Even killing and restarting NetworkManager does not fix the problem. Only restarting the computer allows me to reconnect to the network. I have not tested if there is the same problem with my wired network, since I am using a laptop and rarely use the ethernet cable. I originally posted the problem as a question at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/19780, and Oliver solved the problem by telling me to install wicd instead of NetworkManager. That has worked for me so far. There is more information on that link concerning the outputs of "dmesg" before and after being unable to connect to the network, and the output of "iwconfig" and "sudo NetworkManager --no-daemon". ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- NetworkManager does not successfully reconnect to a wireless network after resume from suspend to ram. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/177053 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
