Public bug reported: I noticed that the hardware acceleration is disabled, despite having a proprietary nvidia driver installed.
I managed to fix it by adding the following lines to /etc/modules: nvidia nvidia-drm nvidia-modeset as it was suggested in this topic: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?p=1895521#p1895521 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP107 [GeForce GTX 1050 Ti] (rev a1) Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS 5.4.0-73-generic #82-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: nvidia-driver-460 460.80-0ubuntu0.20.04.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-73.82-generic 5.4.106 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-73-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.18 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Thu Jun 3 10:13:51 2021 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-09-17 (624 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 19.04 "Disco Dingo" - Release amd64 (20190416) SourcePackage: nvidia-graphics-drivers-460 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to focal on 2020-05-25 (373 days ago) ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-460 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug focal -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1930681 Title: No hardware acceleration, can be fixed by editing /etc/modules To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-460/+bug/1930681/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
