Public bug reported:

I noticed that the hardware acceleration is disabled, despite having a
proprietary nvidia driver installed.

I managed to fix it by adding the following lines to /etc/modules:
nvidia 
nvidia-drm
nvidia-modeset

as it was suggested in this topic:
