FYI, my problem with not auto-mounted USB devices on Gnome was caused by hal, not started correctly on boot. See bug #25931 for the details.
To sum up, in /etc/rc2.d, I had S12hal, S13gdm and S50dbus !! I've just changed that to S12dbus, S13hal and S14gdm (as I wanted S11 just for klogd), restarted and all is fine now. No idea why dbus was started so late. BTW, I did not have any org.freedesktop.hal errors, nor any crash/freeze like in #25931, just the no auto-mount part, now solved. -- org.freedesktop.hal error when trying to mount external media https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164365 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
