I've got the same problem on Lenovo N100 in Gutsy.
In Windows It is ok. I think the problem is that Ubuntu incorrect manages fan 
speeds.
After power on it works ok. But sometimes after sleep/hibernate it keeps cpu 
fan at low level
and after some time computer shuts down due to overheat.
Just before, it went off, when my lid was closed.
Where can I find options to control fan speed?
