Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

The installer `ubiquity` is in the process of being replaced; refer

Given this fact, adding new features to a deprecated, or soon to be
deprecated product makes little sense, so it maybe worthwhile instead to
suggest it as a feature for the replacement of `ubiquity`.

FYI:  Lubuntu (since 18.10) & Ubuntu Studio (since 20.10) have used the
`calamares` installer and offer what you're asking for by default  (it's
created issues though too, as an encrypted boot means chosen keyboard
settings (non-qwerty) may not be available until after you've entered
your encryption key.. so there are costs to it too for some users).
