The issue got triggered after a normal upgrade process. > sudo apt autoclean && sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade
The install itself is on a Toshiba laptop that has been running the latest development version (at any given time) since the end of 2016. It has been running hirsute for some weeks/months now (I'm not sure of the exact date). I had another upgrade problem a couple of weeks ago as my root directory didn't have links for lib, lib32, lib64, libx32 (it had actual folders and convert-usrmerge failed badly, I did create the links by hand, after being sure the same files existed under /usr/lib__). --- The image I'm referring is a downloadable hirsute iso file that boots in grub to recover the system. I gave that detail as it could help someone else with the same problem. Sorry, as it wasn't clear that the list was a temporary fix to have a working system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1921758 Title: libc6 fails to install and crashes system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/1921758/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
