I assume this issue still exists in the final 7.10 Gusty Gibbon release.
When you boot in "recovery mode" can you take a digital photo of your
screen when you experience the issue. Please attach this photo to this
bug report, it will be helpful to us to see the messages leading up to
the error. Thanks.
