Public bug reported:
simple-scan can't find my HP scanner.
If I bring up simple-scan from the apps menu the Scanner box is blank
and there's no way to enter data into it.
If I start it from the command line, passing scanner type and IP address
( simple-scan hpaio:/net/psc_2500_series?ip=10.0.0.1 ) it finds the
scanner and scans, and this scanner shows up in the Preferences
"Scanner" box, but there's no way to save it on the Preferences screen.
I can't find any way to set and save this preference via application
configuration either. Using dconf-editor I can edit the selected-device
parameter to add my scanner to the selected-devices field but when I
start simple-scan it doesn't see the device. Curiously, if I use dconf-
editor to change the save-directory field, the new directory is used to
save.
I also am unable to find a way to add the scanner type & IP address to
the apps menu launcher.
