Evan, I don't think it was a bad CD burn. I did a CD check with the boot menu option, and the test was successful. I burned the iso on a rewritable CD (I erased it, so I cannot test it anymore).
I upgraded from feisty to gutsy using "update-manager", so I did not test the 7.10 version.
