Public bug reported: [Impact] EFIFB stops working after graphics device is runtime suspended in D3cold.
[Fix] Prevent the graphics device from being runtime suspended. [Test] With the patch applied, using efifb on graphics device without driver always work, because the device stays at D0 all the time. [Where problems could occur] Potentially this can affect power consumption, if user expects to put graphics device to D3cold, and is fine to get a broken efifb. ** Affects: hwe-next Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-5.10 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-5.10 (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Groovy) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-5.10 (Ubuntu Groovy) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: oem-priority originate-from-1911688 originate-from-1912181 originate-from-1912299 somerville ** Also affects: linux-oem-5.10 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Groovy) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-5.10 (Ubuntu Groovy) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-5.10 (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1914411 Title: Fix broken efifb on graphics device without driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1914411/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
