I am using Edgy Knot 3. It seems that my laptop is whitelisted (sleep and hibernate are both in the right-click list by default) but the suspend hotkey is disabled.
I discussed this with Richard. Apparently suspend has been automatically assigned to sleep in the default GPM and so the drop-down to configure it was removed. It also seems that Ubuntu changes this default behaviour by changing the: /apps/gnome-power-manager/action_button_suspend key to "nothing". The result is that Edgy users do not have the suspend key do anything AND they have no easy way to change it. Richard has just committed a change to return the drop-down (because of this issue) but it clearly isn't in the repos. My personal preference is to have it ask you, the first time you press it, which "suspend" you want it to do and then use that. I think that having the hotkey doing nothing at all for the Edgy release isn't a good situation. -- g-p-m suspend option not enabled by default (discuss) https://launchpad.net/bugs/40606 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
