Public bug reported: ReiserFS (I have not tried reiser4) fscks are done on each startup, and slow down the whole process. It takes an average of 10 seconds on my computers with 2 partitions each.
This is a very interesting thread I found while googling: http://www .mail-archive.com/reiserfs-list@namesys.com/msg22210.html Now, this link was actually not related to the question I really want to ask in this bug report: would it be possible to have the filesystems mounted as soon as possible (if possible at the beginning) of the boot process, and make some other events run in parallel while fsck runs? Is this a crazy idea? ** Affects: upstart (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- reiserfs checks are slow https://launchpad.net/bugs/62543 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
